Busy season is just starting (I have weddings on nine out of the next ten weekends), but last week my good friend Kat Braman gave me a call to see if I’d be interested in second shooting with her. Basically, we descended upon this wedding at the National Hotel on South Beach like a plague of awesome.
Here’s my photographic evidence.

If you’d told me three years ago that I’d look forward to working on Saturdays, I’d have laughed in your face — but since becoming a wedding photographer, I can’t get enough of it. I shot an amazing outdoor wedding at The Sundy House in Delray Beach with my good friend (no pun intended) Todd Good this weekend — and here’s a little bit of the awesomeness we came away with.

Lately, it seems rare to have a Saturday where I’m not shooting a wedding — which is just how I like it. I can’t believe that I actually get to make a living doing something I love so much. A few weeks ago my good friend Kat Braman called me up and asked if I’d like to come and shoot a wedding with her on a Saturday that I happened to have free — and the rest, they say, is history.

I’d been looking forward to shooting Tom & Melissa’s engagement session at The Morikami Japanese Gardens for a while now, so I was really bummed when I woke up to a sky full of rainclouds yesterday. It poured so hard I could hardly see on the drive up — and all of a sudden it just stopped out of nowhere and left behind a beautiful blue sky. Everything still looked amazing when I pulled in, and we met up and headed out to the gardens to shoot — and it started pouring. Hard. On the plus side, we now had plenty of time to get to know each other better. Tom and Melissa had just met when she mentioned that she’d bought Twilight on DVD and was really excited to watch it. (I’d give him a hard time about it, except that shortly after Stephanie and I met I volunteered to watch Pride and Prejudice with her. I even went to the library and got the book so I could read up beforehand and impress her.)

Forty five minutes later, we had the weather on our side. Here’s a little something we threw together.

Robby & Tiara

Robby’s family owns an amazing lake home in Ellerslia, GA, where the and Tiara threw their awesome lakefront wedding. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, and I had all kinds of great times:
1) Hanging out with family, friends, and their new puppy, Mr. Baba Ganoush.
2) Sleeping in crazy cool cabins and tents with said friends.
3) Having our fishing boat’s motor die in the middle of the lake during a lightning storm.
4) Taking epic pictures.
