2011 was such an amazing year for me — I met so many amazing couples, and I’m honored to have shared their wedding days with each and every one of them. I’m not sure how I managed to narrow everything down enough to fit into a single blog post, but here you have it — my favorite images of 2011!

Busy season is just starting (I have weddings on nine out of the next ten weekends), but last week my good friend Kat Braman gave me a call to see if I’d be interested in second shooting with her. Basically, we descended upon this wedding at the National Hotel on South Beach like a plague of awesome.

If you’d told me three years ago that I’d look forward to working on Saturdays, I’d have laughed in your face — but since becoming a wedding photographer, I can’t get enough of it. I shot an amazing outdoor wedding at The Sundy House in Delray Beach with my good friend (no pun intended) Todd Good this weekend — and here’s a little bit of the awesomeness we came away with.

I love all my clients, but working with Sika and Chris has been an amazing experience. Since meeting with them to talk about their awesome New Orleans inspired wedding at the Josephine S. Leiser Opera Center a few months ago and discovering that we have pretty much everything in common, Stephanie and I have struck up a great friendship with them. We’d run into them at BREW (our mutual favorite coffee shop) downtown, and Sika would give us sneak peeks at all her rad wedding details (like her awesome newspaper-styled wedding programs and concert poster announcements). Chris and I are both jokers, so we hit it off right away, much to the annoyance of Stephanie and Sika! Chris mentioned at our first meeting that he was really into aviation and was working on getting his pilot’s license, which was the seed that grew into our awesome private plane engagement session at FLL.

I’ve been a full-time photographer for a while now, and it’s sometimes easy to forget how blessed I am to have such an amazing calling — all throughout the wedding day, friends and family members from out of town introduced themselves and told me that Sika and Chris have been talking nonstop about me and how they can’t wait to see the wedding photos. After hearing how much working with me meant to them, I decided to do something a little out of the ordinary and edit and publish their blog post the next day, while all their family and friends are in town to share it with them. Congrats Sika & Chris — you’re great people, and amazing friends!

Lately, it seems rare to have a Saturday where I’m not shooting a wedding — which is just how I like it. I can’t believe that I actually get to make a living doing something I love so much. A few weeks ago my good friend Kat Braman called me up and asked if I’d like to come and shoot a wedding with her on a Saturday that I happened to have free — and the rest, they say, is history.
